JAZZ SINGER, IMPROVISER, COMPOSER AND SONGWRITER
Born and raised in Chester, Lucy Joy is a vocalist, improviser, composer and songwriter whose music fuses rolling, swaggering modal jazz; sensual, rich female vocal songwriting and lusciously interpreted jazz standards. Her influences are wide-reaching, including jazz artists such as Betty Carter, McCoy Tyner, Cecile McLorin Salvant and Ella Fitzgerald, but also more eclectic inspirations such as Stravinsky, Ravel, Nick Cave, Aretha Franklin and Led Zeppelin.

Lucy's quintet recently debuted at the EFG London Jazz Festival, where they supported Giacomo Smith and Mozes Rosenberg.

Besides this, Lucy is a versatile and reliable session vocalist, having performed and recorded for a variety of projects including with the Guildhall Session Singers and for jazz/soul singer/songwriter Ola Onabule.
